Power UPS & Generators
Why Standby Power is Important?
At RPS, we specialise in the installation of reliable Standby Power systems that support
everything from your home office to large scale international data centres. These systems
are crucial during unexpected power outages.
When mains power fails, a Standby Power system immediately takes over, drawing
energy either from stored power in batteries via an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS),
from a generator, or from a combination of both in a hybrid setup. This transition assists
in preventing costly downtime and protects sensitive equipment.
How does a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Work?
A UPS is designed to provide immediate, short term power during a mains outage. Acting
as a backup battery, it ensures critical systems remain operational long enough to safely
shut down or switch to a longer term power source. While a UPS offers essential
protection for a few minutes, pairing it with a generator is the best way to ensure
extended runtime during longer disruptions
